Casey Diamond - Long Damn Time  - Massachusetts USA

Long Damn Time is the sort of song you want to play real loud in your car. Fast paced, it is a great pop song from a young talent. For an indie artist, Casey's work is (not) surprisingly well brilliantly produced with lots of backend bass and rhythm with some of the best session artists in the business. The quality of the work is obvious.

The album features Peter Gabriel's Tony Levin on bass and the drummer for David Bowie and Natalie Imbruglia, Mike Levesque.  The Grammy Award-winning Will Ackerman joins Casey on guitar and also co-wrote one of the tracks on Casey's new CD.  The album was recorded at Taylor Barefoot studios in Boston, and Will Ackerman's Imaginary Road Studios, as well as at Q Division with Mike Denneen  (click five) and Tom Polce producing one track, and at Hyperion Studios in LA with Bryan Carrigan and Chris Fogel (jagged little pill) mixing another.

So turn it up and hit the road....

Song 2 - There you are by 3 Blind Mice

3 Blind Mice hail from the UK. Consisting of Alex Grayson, Lyndon Connah and Sean Kane they offer an acoustic mix that blends different elements of Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell and others. They list the Beatles, Zeppelin and Weather Report as influences. This particular song reminds me of the Finn Brothers (of Crowded House) in its melody and lyics which is no small accolade

Song 1- Superhero - Sherby

Sherby (aka Cheryl Childers) was originally from North Carolina. Her musical studies included University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and later at California State University, Northridge. Sherby is from Malibu California.

Song 2 - One Perfect Day - Adrienne Pierce

"Small Fires" has produced a plethora of rave reviews and was nominated for Best Independent Album and Best Modern Rock Record for 2002 by The Georgia Straight and Just Plain Folks respectively. "Small Fires" was produced by Vancouver's Sean Ashby (Sarah McLachlan). One track, 'Every Sprinkler,' was produced, engineered and mixed by David Kershaw (Wild Strawberries) and the remaining tracks were mixed by Roger Swan (Swollen Members). The album features the talents of Darren Parris [bass] (Bocephus King), Niko Friesen [drums] (Motion Soundtrack, Lily Frost), Sean Ashby [guitar], Craig Ducommon [keys] (Springer DuCommon), Mary Ancheta [keys], and Luke Doucet [lap steel].

Song 3 - Start Over - Jasmine Ash

Jasmine Ash began performing music live in 2001 at a small coffee shop in Eugene, Oregon. The fact that she had been playing guitar and writing her own songs for less than one year at the time, didn't deter Jasmine from setting out to prove that she belonged on the stage. Her effortless charisma and soft, intimate voice made her an instant favorite in the coffee houses and small venues of Eugene.

In early 2002 Jasmine relocated to Portland in search of larger musical opportunities and a greater challenge. She immediately began gaining notoriety with her magnetic live shows and her recently released first album, Penelopes Diary. Spring 2004, Jasmine brought together Portlands finest musicians, from bands as diverse as The Bella Fayes and Dr. Theopolis, to begin recording her second album: From Grey to Blue. Song 1 - Come on Over - Kanalo - Hawaii

KANALO was founded on a whim. KCCN FM100 was seeking contestants for their 2nd annual Pride of the Islands talent contest. A song was written and a band was formed for the contest less than a day before the song needed to be submitted... but the band didn't have a name yet. The group chose KANALO which represents Kaneohe and Waimanalo... where the band members resided. They went on the win the group category of that contest in November 1998. Song 1 - Trini by The Switch [New York City]

The Switch hails from New York City, Kai Altair (lead singer), Joe Pepitone (guitarist), Dan Onori (drummer) & Dave Bunting (bassist). In early 2002, the songwriting team of Kai and Joe composed their first song Marilyn. Song 2 is Northwards Forthwith from Wellington Band Dangerpin. Superpop combo from Wellington, Dangerpin combine an impressive range of Indie or otherwise influences into their melodious and euphonic casserole pot. People in the street compare them to Simon and Garfunkel - this may be because they can't think of anyone else who do such lush harmony arrangements... Imagine the cuddly sweetness of Belle and Sebastian with the diy whim and indie charm of pavement, alongside the eclecticism and eager-to-pleasedness of Pharrell. You can find them at Muzic.co.nz.

Song 3 is from Wellington Pop Duo Pearl. Called "All I need", it is a great pop song of Natalia Imbruglia or the Wilson Sisters vein. Pearl is one of New Zealand's most exciting up and coming acts. Their debut single 'Fallacy' is evidence of their fresh approach to the pop genre. The track was featured on NZ On Air's Kiwi Hit Disc #72 released in June 2005 and NZ On Air also provided funding for the 'Fallacy' video. Pearl's sound is rich, pure harmonies driving hooky, uplifting pop songs. The result: a perfect blend of sophistication and fun. Both Lisa and Shelley are talented songwriters. Moon Shy City, Lejeune from Washington DC of the album Lejuene

Lejeune is a Washington, DC quartet dedicated to writing and performing romantic pop rock. Though Lejeunes songs have been described as a soulful and velvety mix, blending the sounds of indie and pop icons like Luna, Bowie, and early R.E.M., its members have created something uniquely their own. Certainly much could be attributed to singer Sam Bishops well-written lyrics delivered via mature and melodious vocals, as well as guitarist Matthew Richardsons bold and sometimes Knopfler-esque fret board stylings. There is no denying, however, the solidifying impact Lejeunes rhythm section has on its music. The coordination of and interplay between bassist Odysseus Leonard and drummer Greg Gendron only work to further expand the dynamism of Lejeunes songs.

LeMuria by TranceVision from TESUQUE, New Mexico off the album LeMuria

TranceVision was founded in 1998 by Pete Code (producer/songwriter/musician) and Greta Rose (lead vocals/percussion). Greg Kaiser joined the band as the keyboardist in 1999. The band is dedicated to exploring the boundaries of contemporary and ancient music without concern for trends and experimentation is law.

The band has enjoyed the privilege of recording with prominent and talented musicians such as Tim Reynolds (TR3, Dave Matthews) rhythm & lead guitar on "Atom " and "Enertia", Kip Winger (Winger, Alan Parsons) fretless bass on "Lemuria".

Five Star Fall is from the not so far north indie city of Toronto. Mercurial Girl is a fast paced rock ditty. The Album is Automatic Ordinary: From the opening guitar loop of "Mercurial Girl" to the trippy Melotron vibe of "Between Two Floors", 5 Star Fall doesn't do anything the obvious way. Not in this lifetime anyway. If it can be manipulated or played with, these restless Canadian lads are ready to get their hands dirty, calling into service everything from retro analog effects pedals and Kraftwerk-era drum machines to self-sampling and the most current software.

Next up some Latin Jazz, Mutandina from La Plata Argentina. Mutandina means "mixing". Mutandina mixes styles from jazz, funk, salsa, pop, rock and Brazilian. There is so much good music from South America, Mutandina are another example this. The album is self named Mutandina and is available from Magnatune.

Thirdly is The West Exit from Seattle. The title track of the album is Nocturne. Sexy, ambient dance grooves move under layers of synthesizers & keyboards. Beautifully haunting & catchy vocal melodies float provocatively over the music telling stories of love lost, gained, & coveted. Merging the acoustic & the electric, mixing soulful chords with funky beats; The West Exit is a sultry blend of pop, R&B, & electronic music.
